Data We Collect

DeskFit AI is a local-first app. The vast majority of your data never leaves your device.

The following data is stored locally on your device only:

• Your first name (entered during onboarding)
• Fitness level and goal preferences
• Work schedule and break reminder settings
• Workout history and session data
• Streak and progress information
• Selected app theme

If you explicitly allow AI-generated workouts, the following workout preferences are sent only when you generate an AI workout:

• Selected duration and workout setting (desk, home, or gym)
• Fitness level, goal, and energy level
• Selected focus areas and time of day
• Work setup, pain points, and fitness background
• Recently used exercise names, to provide variety

Your name, email address, complete workout history, device information, contacts, and geographic location are not included in workout-generation requests. Only recently used exercise names are sent to reduce repetition.

You can instead choose local workouts, in which case no workout-generation request is sent to our API or a third-party AI. You can change this choice in Settings.

Only if you separately enable "Improve Exercise Library" may we retain anonymous exercise content returned by the AI service, such as exercise names, general instructions, modifications, and target areas. We do not store the workout request or associate this content with an account, device, person, or workout history.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect solely to provide and improve DeskFit AI's features:

• To generate personalized AI workouts tailored to your fitness level and goals
• To display your progress, streaks, and workout history
• To schedule stretch break and workout reminder notifications
• To remember your preferences between sessions
• To review and improve our universal exercise catalog using anonymous, aggregated exercise content

AI Workout Generation

Before the first AI workout, DeskFit asks for your explicit permission to send workout preferences through our AWS API to Anthropic's Claude API. If you allow it, the request contains:

• Selected workout duration (10, 20, or 30 minutes)
• Workout setting (desk, home, or gym)
• Fitness level, goal, and energy level
• Focus areas and time of day
• Work setup, pain points, and fitness background
• Recently used exercise names

If you decline, DeskFit creates a local workout on your device instead and sends no workout preferences to our API or Anthropic. You can change this choice at any time under AI & Privacy in Settings.

Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy. We recommend reviewing it if you have questions about how API requests are processed.

Third Parties

DeskFit AI integrates with the following third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude API — AI workout generation (see Section 3)
• Apple Health — If you grant permission, completed workouts and estimated calories can be written to the Health app.

Workout and stretch reminders are scheduled locally on your device; DeskFit AI does not use remote push notifications.

We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or social media trackers.

Data Storage & Security

Your name, workout history, progress, and saved settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and UserDefaults. Anonymous workout preferences are transmitted when you request an AI workout, as described in Section 3. Locally stored data may be included in your device backup if backup is enabled.

Our API processes workout-generation requests but does not require an account or maintain a DeskFit workout history for you. Workout-generation requests and preferences are processed only to generate the requested workout and are not retained by DeskFit after the request is completed.

If you enable "Improve Exercise Library," anonymous AI-generated exercise content may be stored in an aggregated exercise-candidate catalog on Amazon Web Services. Candidate records contain exercise content and an aggregate generation count only. They do not contain the original request, selected preferences, pain points, name, account identifier, device identifier, IP address, or individual workout history. Unreviewed candidates automatically expire after 90 days unless they are generated again or approved for the exercise catalog.

Children's Privacy

DeskFit AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Your Rights

Most DeskFit AI data is stored locally on your device, giving you direct control over it:

• Access — All your data is visible within the app (progress, history, settings)
• Correction — Update your name, preferences, and schedule anytime in Settings
• Deletion — Delete the app to permanently remove all data
• Reset — Use "Reset Onboarding" in Settings to start fresh
