Privacy Policy

📋 Plain English: LittlePath stores all data on your device only. We don't collect personal information, create accounts, or sell your data. AI personalization sends minimal profile details to generate a response — nothing is stored on our servers. You're always in control.
1. Who we are

2. What data we collect
Stored locally on your device only:
- Child's first name, birth date, and avatar colour you choose
- Developmental preferences set during onboarding (temperament, energy level, sensory notes, parenting approach)
- Family schedule (school days, nap schedule)
- Behavior log entries — timestamps and behavior types you record
- Activity completion history and enjoyment ratings
- Weekly planner slots you create
Sent to our server only when you use AI personalization (not stored):
- Child's first name, approximate age, temperament, and energy level
- The behavior script or activity being personalized
- Used solely to generate the response — not logged, stored, or used for any other purpose
We do not collect:
- Email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or usage analytics
- Photos, location, microphone, or camera data
- Crash reports or behavioral analytics
3. Children's privacy (COPPA)
🌱 LittlePath is a tool for parents. The app is operated by parents and caregivers on behalf of their children. Children do not directly interact with any data collection systems, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
All child profile data is entered by a parent or guardian and stored exclusively on that parent's device. This data is never transmitted to us except in limited, transient AI personalization requests — and only the minimum necessary (first name, age range, temperament) is sent, never full names or birth dates.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, contact us at support@tessbuild.com and we will delete it promptly.
4. How we use data
All locally stored data is used solely to provide app functionality:
- Child profile details power the behavior script ranking algorithm and activity recommendations
- Behavior logs improve script rankings for your specific child over time
- Planner data populates your weekly view
We do not use any data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or sale to third parties. There are no ads in LittlePath.
5. AI personalization
When you tap "Personalize for [name]", your request is sent to our AWS Lambda server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API. The request contains your child's first name, approximate age, temperament, and the content being personalized.
Neither we nor Anthropic store this data after the response is returned. The response is displayed in the app and saved to your device only if you keep it. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
AI personalization is an optional premium feature. The app functions fully without it.
6. In-app purchases
LittlePath offers optional subscriptions through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We do not receive, process, or store any payment information. Subscription status is managed by Apple via StoreKit 2.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for commercial purposes. The only external service that receives any data is Anthropic's Claude API, and only when you explicitly use AI personalization.
8. Data deletion
All your data lives on your device. You can delete it at any time by:
- Deleting individual profiles within the app (Settings → Profile → Delete)
- Deleting the app from your device, which removes all locally stored data
Because we store no data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete remotely. Questions? Email support@tessbuild.com.
9. Security
Data stored on your device is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and app sandboxing. AI personalization requests are transmitted over HTTPS with per-app authentication keys.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
